Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee

There are some who like to use the word love with the wrong connotation by implying that love means accepting another person’s sinful ways. Love should not accept sin because sin leads to corruption, injustice, wickedness, evil, and death. God is love, but God hates evil.  Those who live sinfully, God gives them up to be taken captive by sin, lust of this world, corruption, and death. Jesus Christ taught that the two most important commandments was first to Love thy God and second to love thy neighbor as yourself. Love of God comes first because wisdom comes from God and God gives us the wisdom to define what true love is. Love thy God means being obedient to God, and living in disobedience to God is sin. God gives life, but sin leads to death, so how can we then say we love our neighbors and ourselves if we willfully partake, serve, or promote sin? By doing such things, we are promoting and serving death. Jesus Christ love righteousness, but he hated iniquity. Jesus Christ died for the world’s sins so that those who are willing to repent from their sins can be saved from death and may receive eternal life. God want us to be saved, but to be saved we must repent from our sinful ways.

John 8:3-11 KJV teaches that we shouldn’t condemn others and we shouldn’t sin. In John 8:3-11, Jesus Christ spoke in the defense of a woman who the crowd were contemplating stoning because she was caught in the act of adultery, and in response Jesus Christ stated “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her”, and then the crowd let the woman go. John 8:10-11 states “When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: goand sin no more.” In John 5:12-14 KJV, Jesus Christ healed a man, then told him “sin no morelest a worse thing come unto thee.” After these events, Jesus Christ died for our sins and the gift of salvation was given to the world, so that those who believe and accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior shall be saved. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between man and God. Once you accept Jesus Christ as your lord, it means repenting from your past sinful ways and being led by the Holy Spirit.  If Jesus Christ is your lord and savior, you don’t serve sin and you’re not led by the lust of this world because no man can serve two masters. After Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, there is no other sacrifice for our sins; therefore, if you commit sin unto death after receiving the word and accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, there is no other sacrifice for your sins. Besides the destruction of your soul, sin causes a lot of problems in communities. Sin creates corruption, greed, poverty, environmental issues, diseases, crime, violence, and murders.

Serving the lust of this world instead of being led by the Holy Spirit is a sin and it’s unwise. Serving lust of this world can be define as being driven by worldly things and letting that drive compromise your faith in God or allowing your lust of worldly things to make you disobedient to God. Lust leads to greed, corruption, poverty, environmental issues, diseases, crime, violence, and murders. It’s unwise to serve lust because this world shall pass away, but God is eternal. If you serve lust and are not faithful to God, you too shall pass away. God is good and is the source of wisdom, so we should believe that he wants the best for us. Although things may not always be easy for children of God at the present times, he has promised that glory is what awaits us. Don’t choose to serve lust of this world over God because the things that are seen are temporary, but things unseen is eternal.

Mark 10:18 KJV “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God”. None is good but God, and disobedience (sin) to God corrupts and it leads to death. You do not love your community by promoting sin. Be righteous, be obedient to God and have faith in him through his son Jesus Christ. Love righteousness, hate corruption, hate injustice, and hate evil. God holds the power of life and death, and if we are faithful to him, we receive eternal life and we are blessed. God is love. God gives us the wisdom to define what true love is. If we love as Christians, we should be against sin because sin leads to death.

John 8:3-11

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

2 John 1:9‭-‬11 KJV

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

John 5:12-14 KJV

Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

1 John 5:16-17 KJV

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

1 John 2:15‭-‬17 KJV

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Matthew 5:30 KJV states

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Hebrews 10:26-27 KJV

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Romans 1:18-20 KJV

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:18-32 KJV

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 KJV

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
