John 20: 29 says “blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed”.
I believe Jesus Christ is Lord, and I believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Through my Christian beliefs, my action and my character are produced. My actions and character are aligned with the word of God. If you believe that Jesus Christ is your lord and savior, your beliefs should match your actions because you obey your lord, James 2: 14 states “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works”. Luke 6:46-49 CSB [46] “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things I say? [47] I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them: [48] He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built. [49] But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The river crashed against it, and immediately it collapsed. And the destruction of that house was great.”
Jesus Christ died to cleanse us from our sins, so we shouldn’t go back into our sinful ways, and we should obey his commandments. Accepting Jesus Christ as our lord and savior means turning away from our sinful ways. Jesus was crucified so that the world may be saved from death caused by sin, and his sacrifice is not a pass to continue to live a sinful life. He died to cleanse us from our sins and put us back on God’s good grace.
Jesus Christ taught that the most important commandment is to be faithful to God and that we do that by “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength” and “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”. Those who are found righteous shall live by faith, and believing and obeying God’s commandments is your Christian faith.
Romans 6:10-14 states “For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”
Romans 13:10 KJV “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
Mark 12:29-31 “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
Matthew 25:31-46 KJV states
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
